model. Accuracy, portability, and a modest price all
account for its widespread use by oven manufacturers
and service technicians, regulatory agencies and public
health officials.
Rugged and compact, the
HI - 1501 consists of a lightweight instrument package
connected to the unique detection probe by means of a
shielded cable. It is virtually immune to failure caused
by excessive fields or physical abuse. Three survey ranges
are incorporated into a switching sequence which includes
a battery check and probe check position. The switching
sequence provides automatic checking of both batteries
and probe before each use. Special Electronic circuitry
eliminates errors caused by long and short term drift.

HI-1800 Microwave Survey Meter
The HI-1800 provides
an inexpensive means for public health agencies, appliance
service organizations, restaurants, vending companies,
etc., to periodically perform safety checks for excessive
microwave leakage. It is a rugged, compact, portable
instrument that is virtually immune to failure cause
by excessive fields or physical abuse. It has a light
to indicate low batteries, and a light to indicate power
on. It comes complete with two 9 volt batteries, carrying
case, beaker, and operating instructions.
The HI-1800 complies
with the salient points of both the British standard,
BS5175, and the United States HHS standard, CFR21, part
1030.10.
Normal two-hand operation
allows one to hold the meter for ease of reading while
moving the probe over and around the entire oven with
the other hand.
Probe can be positioned
as desired with clip on side of case for one-hand operation.
